It holds duties of ensuring pregnant woman access appropriate medical check up besides availing financial support under programs like the Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity benefit scheme.

There is need to recognize that even if the mother does not possess the RCH ID at the period of delivery, it is advisable that she undergo registration after the delivery. She should also register herself at the RCH ID to the concerned hospital.

After your pregnancy becomes acknowledged by the VHN/UHN, your PICME number or also called RCH ID, will be provided to the registered mobile number. It can also be obtained by visiting the immediate portal, where you could enter your ‘mobile number or Pre-Registration ID’.
each individual pregnant female who enters the PICME system is assigned a specific identification number, the RCH ID or the PICME number. This means this ID must be important for procuring a birth certificate and accessing health care services.
Any pregnant woman who registers under PICME has rights to government benefits, continuous healthcare and government birth certificate for the unborn child. Furthermore, it provides health care treatments when due, and the supervision of high risk pregnancies.
